Linosite Room

To describe Linosa’s nostalgia, the islanders and tourists use the term linosite. Sensation similar to the ancient “cori nivuru ” (black heart) which is the common feeling at every departure . It is a goodbye accompanied by the feeling of sweet melancholy that begins at the moment when the ship or hydrofoil drops its moorings and continues for the time accompanying the return journey. Probably this feeling is linked to feeling part of the island, for a few days, weeks or even hours, feeling good on a land with its own rules and laws, a universe of lava, sea and Mediterranean scrub capable of dragging you into a timeless dimension. Before being an island, Linosa is itself a link, a rope and a reminder, and for this reason the room is a metaphor for something that cannot be described but inevitably felt.
